Dissatisfied with lack of policy enforcement  I was not satisfied at all with this day care. When, after asking that my child’s name be spelled correctly several times after moving to a new class and a correction to the misspelling was not made, I was told “at least we are trying.” The staff is submissive about disciplinary issues with the children to include such offensives as biting and the use of swear words directed by the after school children towards the pre-school kids. My child was personally subjected to such taunting; which was dismissed by those in charge due to the main culprit being the child of the owner. I was told upon picking my children up on a Friday evening that due to the owners mother (who is in charge for the afternoons) not agreeing with my frankness about schedule and payment policies that I was not permitted to bring my children back. The policy set forth by this day care is that both parent or facility must give 1 weeks notice prior to termination. This lack of regard for there own set policies not only put my family in a terrible bind for need of reliable childcare, the lack of notice did not offer my children the opportunity to say good-bye to their class mates and teachers. This has had negative repercussions for both of my children, the oldest especially who is already experiencing a kind of fear of abandonment due to her father having orders for Iraq. The owners’ mother, in the presence of another parent and 8 children, did this dismissal of enrollment in an outburst that caused me to seriously question her ability to maintain control during periods of stress often encountered when supervising children. Lastly, my privacy was violated when the owner called another parent that Saturday to inform her that my children are no longer enrolled. All and all I am thankful that my children no longer attend this facility; I just wish that I have been given the 1 weeks notice as set forth in their policies in order to prepare.
